Is your dog an embarrassment to you? Do you feel you have no control
There are no bad dogs; every dog deserves the right to an education. Why not unlock your dog’s inner good manners and hidden behaviours. You have nothing to lose except all the bad behaviours your dog is currently showing.
Maybe you don’t have any particular problems with your dog, but would like to develop some important skills with your dog. These courses are designed to allow you and your dog to have a healthy and loving relationship.
Just think how nice it would be to have a dog that is well behaved, confident, listens to you even when your dog doesn’t want to “this may save your dogs life one day”.
Can you imagine having your dog at a park on a busy day when there are lots of barbeques, children and dogs playing and you want to call your dog back to you and he/she comes back with bounding enthusiasm. You may even want your dog to stay in a drop / lay down by your side while you sit back and enjoy the day; this is what you can easily achieve.
Sankiri pride themselves in educating you the owner. We want you to gain the knowledge to fully understand and have the confidence to not only train your dog but know how to problem solve when things go wrong for you.
All it takes is a little effort and time; courses are designed to allow you to achieve Basic dog handling skills on lead through to Advanced off lead obedience, the choice is yours.
Courses are structured for enrolments to commence with the Basic level on lead obedience. For those of you that would like to achieve more than basic obedience all you need to do is pre-book the next level, after being able to demonstrate that you and your dog have learnt the skills necessary to be able to continue to the next level. Contact Lorraine to discuss further dog obedience levels.

- Training classes (10) are run as an honesty policy - you will not be marked off nor given a class card, simply attend classes. Should you feel the need to attend any extra classes within the level you have enrolled in, all we ask is for you to tell us that you would like to attend more classes, this is so we don't end up with too many people within one class - class sizes are kept small.
- Training sessions run approximately one (1) hour.
- Certificate in “Basic on Lead Obedience” – demonstrate that you and your dog have learnt the skills necessary to satisfy the requirements of the Basic on Lead Obedience 10 week course as set down by Sankiri Dog Training.

Important Information:- Training Equipment and Prices
Training head halters are fitted at the first lesson, please don’t go out and waste your money buying useless equipment from outlets that clearly have no knowledge on the correct use or fitting of this equipment.
As trainers we have done extensive training in the correct fitting of training head halters, it is critical for your puppy / dog; to have a positive experience and for you as an owner not to end up in a tug of war with your puppy / dog. This can set the pace for disaster and make it extremely unenjoyable for you and your puppy / dog to continue with dog training in a positive manner.
You will be taught the correct technique to use this training equipment to achieve the best possible results.
If your puppy grows out of their head halter, so long as it has been purchased at Sankiri and is in good condition you will be able to trade it in on another head halter when the time is right.
• Training head halter $35.00 all sizes – Training leads $25.00 – Total $60.00
• Purchase the set and pay only $55.00 discount $5.00
Occasionally, not all training head halter and lead colors are in stock, wherever possible the color selected will be supplied.
These are for you to keep, all dogs must use a training head halter to participate in Sankiri Dog Training. Anyone not wanting their dog to use a training head halter will not be able to participate unless their reasons are due to breed type no mussel on dog etc, please contact Lorraine for further information before enrolling.
Would you like to train your dog to a higher level?
Further information is available by request after your enrolment is confirmed, the following levels are:-
• Intermediate -Extending all the previous exercises from the Basic Obedience & Behavioural 10 week course to a higher level, which you have completed from the Basic Obedience & Behavioural course. At the conclusion of the Intermediate Level, we are now expecting our dogs to offer the exercises on command only, with very little re-commands.
• Advanced Level One -This is the level where we now start to complete all the exercises that we have learnt. We will start to work our dogs on collar and less on the training head halter. By now you should have built a very strong communication / bond / leadership relationship with your dog. Our aim it to work your dog on collar and head towards the off lead stage.
• Advanced Level Two - This is our off lead level; you will find that there are still some exercises that you will need to fully achieve before taking your dog completely off the lead. By now you have an extremely high level of knowledge, communication and respect both between you and your dog. This is also a proofing stage, where we challenge to a much higher level all the exercises that we have learnt. For example can we take any / all of what we have learnt from the Basic obedience & Behavioural course through to the Advanced Level Two course and make it work for us at any given time or place regardless of where we are.
