Puppy Training with a Difference

Puppy pre-school has been structured for you and your puppy to: have fun and learn some basic handling skills: Puppies may attend puppy pre-school from 9 to 16 weeks of age.

Techniques covered in 4 week Puppy Pre-School include:

  • Obedience (Pattern Learning) – sit and sit step away, recall on lead, drop
  • Canine Good Behaviour Shaping
  • Behavioural problem solving
  • Canine Leadership
  • Socialisation (body language and aggression prevention)
  • Toilet training and general health topics

What you learn at these classes should not become confused with further adult dog training. We at Sankiri encourage you to continue: to further your handling, behavioural and socialisation skills beyond puppy pre-school.

Puppy pre-school classes are held at Robbo’s Pet Barn, 31A Princess Highway, Dandenong South Ph: 03 9794 5544 (behind Davids Timber). Classes are held per four (4) week block, kept small and are of 45 minutes duration.

All puppies need to have a lead and a well fitted collar; these are available at Robbo’s Pet Barn. The staff will be more than happy to help you with any of your needs making sure that the collar is not able slip over your puppies head. All puppies must have a current C5 vaccination certificate; this must be shown upon arrival.

It is critical for your puppy to have a positive experience and for you as a handler not to end up in a tug of war with your puppy. This can set the pace for disaster and make it extremely unenjoyable for both you and your puppy to continue with adult dog training in a positive manner.

Puppies aged from 5 months or older will be ready to attend Basic Obedience and Behavioural Training. This is the start of the adult training, further information is available at Robbo’s Pet Barn or Sankiri Dog Training.
