We came to Lorraine and her team with our big boy Rocky who has reactivity issues with other dogs and people. Throughout the past few months especially I struggled with his behaviour as he would get fixated on other dogs and try to lunge at them mostly because he didn’t know any other way how to behave and I was lost in how to handle him. It was also harder to concentrate during the group training classes as I would be so anxious with Rocky being around other dogs which made him even more anxious and I would lose opportunities to help Rocky progress with his training.
After expressing my concerns with Lorraine and her team, they have been so supportive in teaching me how to be a better leader and handler for Rocky and are helping me gain the confidence I need which travels down the lead to give Rocky more confidence too. The training focuses on how to properly give corrections but gives a big emphasis on providing praise and positive reinforcement to develop better trust for Rocky with me. Whilst Rocky and I are still a work in progress, the progress we have made the past few months is something I am grateful to Lorraine’s team for as Rocky is now much calmer during group training sessions and around other dogs, allowing us to focus more on his training and developing our bond and trust with each other.
